Pink Saturday ~ Ballet Slippers

The challenge of finding something pink around my house shouldn't be too difficult to find. One of my favorite things are pink shoes. But these aren't just any pair of shoes. They're for dancing. Ballet to be more precise. Last year, I did a very special tribute to my pink satin ballet slippers, here, if you'd like to read the story of how I started dancing.

They're special to me and I've saved them. Hopefully Dear Bebe will get a kick (literally) out of seeing them or maybe it may inspire her to try dancing. If not, they will remain special to me forever. I've worn them for countless lessons and for a few shows, one of them being The Nutcracker, when I played a "Snow Deer."

I can't wait to see what others have shown today on their blog. Check out the rest over at Beverly's
How Sweet the Sound, especially if you love pink!

Happy Pink Saturday, Jillian!

I LOVE ballet, too. Mainly I grew to love it after sitting at the dance studio for many, many years waiting for my daughter to finish her classes. She took tap and jazz, but fell in love with ballet and so she focused on it for several years. I do so recall the first pair of pointe shoes we purchased. She was so excited! She went through many more---many of them dyed for special dances. She was in several Nutcrackers (I was in one, too--one of the dancing parents in the opening scene--I was awesome (kidding)--when she went to HS, her love of sports (VB and BB) took too much time, so ballet went by the wayside. However, I still love to watch it and I always get chills when I listen to my Nutcracker CD at Christmas. Thanks for the memories.

I know that little bebe of yours has some dancing genes!!

Happy Pink Sat.

Love the shoes, I recently bought a tray with gorgeous ballerina's on it. My mum tried to send me to lessons when I was child, but I screamed the place down and she had to take me home again!

Lovely photo and story. I wonder what the color of en pointe shoes is called. It's a seashell pink and I assume it is uniform the world over. To me it's the color of femininity!

All the best, Lana

Jill, I love your ballet slippers!
I wanted to be a Ballerina when I was a very young girl. I only attended a few lessons, not sure what happened. I still love anything to do with Ballet.
Your sweet Baby girl will enjoy hearing about your ballet slippers.. she will treasure them.
Blessings ~Mary~ :-}

Sorry I'm so late in posting my comments...work has taken me on a few travels as of late...but now that I am able, I certainly wanted to "visit".

Our cottage, The Painted Nest is not abundant in PINK (gasp, I know, LOL) nonetheless the fun continues, as I participated in this past Sat. Pink Posting... :)

Happy to be here this evening...especially to see such a truly personal pink submission!
